For the UPC spray foam products installed by Foam House:

• Re-entry: You may typically re-enter the home 2 hours after the spray foam application is complete, provided the home has been properly ventilated.

• Normal occupancy: Wait 24 hours before returning to normal occupancy, including sleeping in the home.

Foam House follows the manufacturer’s published re-entry and occupancy guidelines for every installation. Proper ventilation during and after the installation is essential to allow the foam to cure and the home to be safely occupied.

Note: Re-entry and occupancy times may vary depending on the spray foam product used and the manufacturer’s recommendations. If your project uses a different product, Foam House will provide the appropriate guidance before installation.

Once your home has been insulated and air sealed, it behaves differently than it did during framing. Moisture generated from construction activities—such as concrete curing, drywall finishing, painting, rain exposure, and everyday humidity—can remain trapped inside until the heating, cooling, and ventilation systems are operational.

To help protect the home during this temporary construction phase, Foam House recommends the following:

● Monitor indoor relative humidity and aim for 40–60% (ideal: 45–55%).

● If humidity rises above 60%, use one or more portable dehumidifiers.

● Run portable fans to circulate air throughout the home.

● Open windows when outdoor temperature and humidity conditions are favorable to promote fresh air exchange.

● Once the HVAC system has been commissioned, close the windows and operate the heating or air conditioning system as designed.

● Operate the home’s ventilation system (HRV, ERV, or other approved system) once it has been installed and commissioned.

● Continue managing humidity until construction is complete and the home is occupied.

Until the permanent heating, cooling, and ventilation systems are operating, temporary ventilation, air circulation, and dehumidification may be necessary to protect building materials and maintain a healthy indoor environment.
